Perfume

Perfume (パフューム) is a trio of electro-pop all-girl from Hiroshima who debuted locally in 2001 and nationwide in 2005. At first, Perfume has a hard time finding an audience. They tried a variety of styles such as pop idol and finally, electropop. It was not until the release of 10 single, "Polyrhythm", that the group was appointed to a new level of popularity. Today, they are a top seller in the industry and release J-pop hits consistently.

2010 - Anniversary 10 and the Tokyo Dome

In 2010, Perfume released "Fushizen na Girl / Nature ni Koishite", which reached # 2 in the charts. They went on tour fanclub-exclusive and titled PTA Spring 2010 Tour.

After P.T.A. tour, A ~ chan expressed interest in holding live at the Tokyo Dome. Soon after, he announced that the perfume is going to have a performance at the prestigious titled Kessei 10 Shunen, Major Debut 5 Shunen Kinen! Perfume LIVE in Tokyo Dome "1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11".

In summer 2010, Perfume, along with other Japanese artists such as Koda Kumi or Kubukuro, took part in a campaign ad for Pepsi Nex. In the ad, they covered a short segment Lovefool by The Cardigans.

On August 11, 2010, Perfumes celebrates 10th anniversary by releasing their 16th single, "VOICE". The single reached # 2 on the charts and has sold over 120,000 copies. Following up the success of "VOICE", Perfume released 17 singles, "Nee". The single also reached # 2 on the Oricon charts and debuted with sales of 85,000 copies (highest first-week sales of all single Parfum's).

On November 3, 2010, Perfume hold a concert in Tokyo Dome announces titled Kessei 10 Shunen, Major Debut 5 Shunen Kinen! Perfume LIVE in Tokyo Dome "1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11" in celebration of the 10th anniversary of them together as a group. Perfume is the first female group that has a concert in the dome since the SPEED in 1998 and women's groups as a whole 2. Tickets for the show sold out the day tickets were released. Demand for tickets is so high that an additional, unplanned seats added. Perfumes performed for 50,000 fans.

On November 28, 2010, Perfume Mnet Korea attended the awards ceremony! Asian Music Awards in Macau to receive the "Best Asian Pop Artist Award". This is his first overseas Wangi and the first time that a Japanese artist had attended the awards in person (AKB48 emerged last year on the show via satellite broadcast).

To complete the 2010, Perfume attend various shows year end, including those held by the CDTV and Music Station. Once again, Perfume attend the annual NHK Uta Gassen Kouhaku as part of Team Red.

On February 9, 2011, Perfume 5 DVD release their concert, titled Kessei 10 Shunen, Major Debut 5 Shunen Kinen! Perfume LIVE in Tokyo Dome "1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11". That film is on November 3, 2010 concert in Tokyo Dome. DVD debuted at # 1 on Oricon Weekly DVD and fragrance became the first female group to have four consecutive # 1 chart debut on DVD.
